The overall aim of the Irish Nature Awards is to get people excited about Irelands native flowers, native insects, native birds, and native trees. We want to increase awareness of the importance of choosing native Irish flowers and native Irish trees because this in turn increases native biodiversity. The simple fact is that scientific studies have proven that areas high in non-native flowers and non-native trees hold the lowest levels of biodiversity. While these beautiful non-native trees and non-native flowers look extremely pleasing to humans, they unfortunately are not helping nature, they are instead hindering it.

It makes perfect sense that the flowers and trees our native insects and birds evolved alongside for millennia are what they seek out and need.

Our Services

In addition to our biodiversity assessments and awards, we run educational and advisory services for schools, universities, county boards and companies

A secret weapon in the battle against Ireland's biodiversity crisis is the role corporate entities can play. All businesses no matter how small or large can make a big difference. This concept is what inspires the core concept of what we do at the Irish Nature Awards. We can guide companies through the jargon they see online and also help implement a biodiversity plan that best embraces and maximises their space limitations. Even choosing the correct flowers for window boxes can make a massive difference.

To help companies make the most of their sustainability actions we offer online and in-person training days. These nature filled fun days can help companies make informed decisions when choosing what biodiversity and sustainability actions to choose. These training days are tailored to suit the special interests of each company and are delivered in an relaxed fun interactive way to suit nature novices and nature enthusiasts.
